Character
Open your character sheet from the hamburger menu in the top-left HUD, then click Character.
Stats
Your character has four stats that determine everything about your combat performance and survival:
| Stat | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Strength (STR) | Physical attack damage, HP, carry capacity |
| Reflex (REF) | Action speed, hit chance, evasion, some mana |
| Intelligence (INT) | Magic attack damage, mana, mitigation |
| Fortitude (FOR) | HP, carry capacity, technique (neural) capacity |
Each stat ranges from 0 to 8. You start with 8 points distributed at character creation.
Vitals
Your character sheet shows five vital bars:
| Vital | Color | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| HP | Red | Health. At 0, you die. |
| Mana | Indigo | Fuel for magic techniques. |
| Stamina | Green | Consumed by walking, by purging techniques, by forcing your way out of a fight, and by your faction claiming territory. At 0, encounters can't trigger. |
| Hunger | Orange | Decays very slowly. Nothing depends on it yet. |
| Thirst | Cyan | Decays very slowly. Nothing depends on it yet. |
What drains stamina
Four things, and the last one surprises people:
- Walking. Roughly a point every ten steps, so a long march is a real bill.
- Purging a technique, which costs its weight.
- Forcing your way out of a fight. Repeated escape attempts get easier, and the help is paid for in stamina.
- Your faction claiming territory. Land is bought with its members' stamina, and each claim in a day costs more than the last.
That last one catches faction leaders out: you can be standing still, doing nothing, and watch your stamina fall as your borders grow. It matters because stamina is also what buys you out of a fight you cannot win — an expanding faction can leave you unable to run.
Resting in a Meditation Sanctum is the only way it comes back.
HP Formula
HP = Strength * 10 + Fortitude * 20 + 20
A Vanguard (STR 4, FOR 3) starts with 120 HP. An Arcanist (STR 1, FOR 1) starts with 50 HP.
Mana Formula
Mana = Intelligence * 15 + Reflex * 5 + 10
An Arcanist (INT 4, REF 2) starts with 80 Mana. A Vanguard (INT 0, REF 1) starts with 15 Mana.
Carry Capacity
Capacity (kg) = 10 + Strength * 7 + Fortitude * 11
A Vanguard carries 71 kg. A Ranger carries 36 kg. Your current weight is shown in the Inventory panel.
XP and Leveling
XP Bar
The character sheet shows an XP bar with your current total and the amount needed for the next level:
XP required for level L = 50 * L^2
| Level | XP Required (cumulative) |
|---|---|
| 2 | 200 |
| 3 | 450 |
| 5 | 1,250 |
| 10 | 5,000 |
| 20 | 20,000 |
Leveling Up
When you have enough XP, a "Level Up" button appears on the XP bar. Click it to open the Level Up screen:
- You gain 1 stat point per level
- Allocate it to STR, REF, INT, or FOR
- The screen shows a live preview of your new HP/Mana/Stamina
- You must spend the point before closing (or click Close to defer)
Stat points accumulate if you don't spend them immediately — you can save up and spend multiple points at once.
Position
The character sheet also shows your current:
- Position — X/Y coordinates (rounded)
- Sector — Which sector you're in (sector X/Y)
These update as you move through the world.
Intelligence also decides every crafting roll — see Crafting. It is the stat that turns shards into gear.
